This app development project has been a labor of love for quite some time, stemming from my days as an HR Consultant and Talent Acquisition Specialist.


I absolutely love the hiring process. Truly, I do.


Seeing the hope in candidates and the joy in new hires coming to Orientation. You cannot replace that feeling of seeing them so happy, knowing they have an exciting new challenge ahead and being able to support their livelihoods and their families.


And seeing the relief and anticipation from new managers and their departments…after a training period, they finally have the help they so desperately need plus they have a brand new member to positively contribute to their culture.


Of course there are problems, too. Any time you deal with humans there are problems, am I right?


Problems for candidates:

  • The "black hole" of applications where candidates rarely hear back.
  • Lack of feedback after rejection, leaving candidates uncertain about areas of improvement.
  • Overwhelming guesswork on how to present themselves effectively (e.g., resume format, LinkedIn updates, interview attire).


Problems for hiring managers:

  • Time-consuming process of sorting through hundreds of resumes.
  • Struggling to find the right fit, leading to wasted time and resources.
  • The high cost of bad hires, which impacts team morale and productivity.
  • Pressure to balance recruitment duties with their primary responsibilities.


General inefficiencies in the hiring process:

  • Disconnected communication between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Long hiring timelines that delay productivity and projects.
  • Lack of transparency and fairness, leading to frustration on both sides.


Broader context:

  • Remote work has increased competition and complexity in the job market.
  • Digital hiring tools often lack a human touch, making the process feel impersonal.
  • Candidates and hiring managers alike crave clearer, more supportive interactions.


I decided to take on the LOFTY GOAL of solving each and every problem I encountered.


Am I bonkers in attempting to do so? Sometimes I wonder…:)

But it’s important. And it matters.


It means something to me. I want to help. I have been there and sometimes it’s no picnic for either side.


So, I present to you: Jobity.
